Commissioner Gainer is aware of the tremendous burden that property taxes can be, especially in these tough economic times. And although the Assessors office does it's best to get it right, no organization is perfect. The Assessors office itself recognizes that, and has set up an appeals process. What many people do not realize, however, is that you do not need to hire an attorney to represent you if you feel that your property has been improperly taxed. The following pages show you how to represent yourself in this process without paying for an Attorney. View PDF

Hello District 10,
I was recently appointed the Cook County Commissioner for the Tenth District and am thrilled to be working on the dynamic issues impacting the County. I currently live in Lincoln Park with my husband Dennis and our 3 children. I have also worked in the area for a number of years, starting my career as a community organizer at Senn High School where we opened the first community center in a Chicago Public School. After which I went to work as a Budget Analyst for the City of Chicago and then served as Lakefront Director for the Chicago Park District. For the past 8 years, I have been working in Corporate Strategy for Aon Corporation. I think these experiences will be invaluable as Cook County Commissioner of the Tenth District.
I am looking forward to working with all of you.
Sincerely,
Bridget Gainer

Commissioner Gainer will be running in the Primary election this coming February, and she will need your support to continue her fight to change the way County government is run. As President Obama demonstrated so well, there is incredible power in donations of any size. Thank you for your support.
