Cook County homeowners who have seen substantial increases in property taxes in recent years have until Oct. 31 to apply for financial assistance through the Cook County Homeowner Relief Fund.
The $15-million program will assist homeowners who have experienced a substantial rise in property taxes in recent years, with selected recipients receiving $1,000 in one-time assistance.
The program was initially announced in September and targeted Cook County homeowners who have experienced a property tax increase of 50 percent in the 2021, 2022 or 2023 tax year.
